How clutter can affect your life and lifestyle

When you're faced with so much clutter in and around your living space, it becomes a burden. And the thought of tackling it becomes just that - a thought, but no more. Now I've always been a motivated person, tackling all kinds of projects with great enthusiasm. But I really needed a helping hand to become clutter-free. I certainly did not have as much clutter as some of my friends I knew. But still, however much, it was affecting me, my family, my moods, and therefore my lifestyle.

I needed to clean out the clutter. So here's what I did. I thought about my life today and what's important. Sure I have memento boxes and photo albums with items worth keeping to show my kids one day. But out went all the things I never look at, things are are irrelevant today to me and my family. And of course, out went the real junk. And I spent many evenings and weekends visiting the local tip with a hire trailor attached to my car. Of course, a good clear-out becomes cumulative. The more you do it, the more you want to do. And things I once hesitated getting rid of, I don't give a second thought to now as they are simply not important enough. Boy, this was beginning to feel good.
