Creating CurtainsCurtains are probably the single, most important feature of any room. More than beautiful floors, stunning architectural features, or carefully chosen furniture. The window is the place where inside meets outside, where views can be admired and where shade and light are balanced. Every window deservedly becomes the focal point of the room and therefore needs to be dressed with both style and functionality in mind. Ideally, each room you walk into in your house should harmonize. Your home should have a fluent style, and the mood and theme some kind of continuation throughout. Carefully planned window treatments can help achieve a harmony throughout your house, whilst each room can still retain it's own individuality. Spend time thinking about and imagining your window treatments. What shape and texture do you want to see at your windows? What are the colors of your room? How do your windows open and close? (this can make a difference to your style options) What is the style and function of the room? How much natural light comes into the room? It's worth planning carefully and living with naked windows for a while before deciding on the look you want to achieve. Never rush into buying fabric and making your curtains just to make-do - you need to be able to live with the results for a long time. Using our guides, you will be able to achieve the look for your room that you have planned, desired and dreamed about, and have fun watching your creations come to life in your hands. |
