How Being Clutter-Free Can Motivate OthersHave you ever led by example? It's true that you will inadvertantly motivate those around you to follow your lead and get rid of the clutter. My husband for one. We both works from home and I rarely would venture into his office as I would find the mess quite overwhelming. In fact I was beginning to notice his tendancy to spend more time in my office rather than his own. His "organized chaos" was untouchable until he saw the effect of my clutter clearing had on the rest of the house and on us personally. We spent a weekend in the office and completely cleared out, organized, filed and discovered storage space we never knew we had. We even went as far and re-decorating and his space is now tranquil and relaxed and organised. His working days are shorter as he get more done in a shorter space of time, simply by being organized clutter-free, which was affecting his motivation and productivity. Clutter-Free At LastSo, here I am, a self-proclaimed clutter-free, neat-freak. Who went full circle in the cycle of no clutter, clutter, lots of clutter, to no clutter again. I was very sceptical when I read about all the emotional effects that being clutter-free would have on me as well, or whether I would see any powerful improvements in my life, but it did and it has. I love my space too much for it to become invaded with anything other than my close family and friends. Not ghosts from the past or univited guests. If you need a motivational boost to become clutter free, ask a friend to join you and each other to have a clutter-free clear one weekend, each of you helping the other in their own home to remove clutter and re-invent your storage spaces. Becoming clutter-free is not as overwhelming as one imagines, develop a simple timetable with some real goals that will give you a sense of achievement with each step you take. Reaping the benefits of being clutter-free in your household will make you feel amazing. |
