People and Traffic versus function and style

Dogs and kids, area rugs and carpets. Somehow they clash. You don't want to live in a state of permanent panic of who's doing what on which rug, and where. So think carefully about your flooring in spaces where children and animals will be. And don't worry too much - there are materials out there especially suited for playrooms and kids rooms. And for entrances and exits where feet trample and the outdoors invariably finds its way in.

Easy-care rugs are just that, and other sturdier fabrics often just need a good brush or vaccuum to ensure they stay looking as good as new. Stain resistant options still give you all the style, color and comfort you are looking for, without breaking the bank.

And of course if there is just the one of you, or the pair of you to think of, then the choice of area rugs is infinite. Because you will be free to choose the most beautiful rugs you want to own, with practicality coming deservedly low on your list. All you will need to think about is if the soles of your own feet are clean.

If you've moved around as much as I have, then you will begin to understand that no matter what your personal taste and style, you will undoubtedly be influenced by the style you see each day in the world around you. Tastes and preferences of furnishings, including area rugs, begin to alter.

You will notice what type of area rugs are prominently being sold stores, what is displayed in your neighbors homes, what the cultures dictates. Of course you can retain your own taste, but it will, for sure, be moulded and shaped by what's around you - more than you think. I know for sure that my style rules have changed with every move I've made.
